Key Terminology
To get the most out of PONT, itโs helpful to understand a few key terms used throughout the platform:
๐น Operator
This is your organization โ the workspace provider using PONT. One operator can manage multiple venues, brands, or service types.
๐น Location
A physical location under your Operatorโs control. Each venue has its own resources, rooms, bookings, and settings.
๐น Member
An individual or company using your services. Members may book rooms, receive invoices, or access products and services depending on their membership.
๐น Order
An Order is a sale of any of the products or services an Operator offers. It can be a structured request or purchase made by a member โ e.g., monthly membership, meeting room hours, or a one-time package; it can also be a reservation made by a member for a room, desk, or service. An order will tie into billing workflows.
๐น Resource
Anything that can be booked โ meeting rooms, hot desks, event space, etc.
๐น Product
A Product is something that an Operator offers; it can be linked to a Resource (a physical space) or a service (think about photocopies, lunches, etc.).
๐น Business Rules
Business Rules are the Operator’s configuration that automatically drives the behaviour of the application and/or performs actions, such as generating invoices, sending emails, or applying access rights.
๐น Integration
Third-party platforms connected to PONT (e.g., Xero for accounting, IronWiFi for internet access, HubSpot for CRM).
